SKIN is IN!
Skin
is In!
You
may be surprised to know that your Skin is your biggest organ! Your skin reflects what is going on inside
your body. Of course you need to take
care of the outside too, but it really all starts from the inside out. Not only can exercise and diet affect your
skins complexion, but your mood and your sleep patterns can as well. And even stress! When you are under stress, your
skin reflects that. The stress hormone,
cortisol, can increase, releasing higher levels, which breaks down collagen in
the skin, leaving you with wrinkles, inflammation, etc. Sometimes you just need to take a deep breath and let it go. Another option, exercise. When you exercise it does a body good,
especially your skin. Exercising
releases chemicals
called endorphins. These endorphins interact with the receptors
in your brain that reduce your perception of pain. Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body. It’s that feeling
that follows a run or a workout often described as "euphoric," also known
as a "runner's high." So
exercise is a great way to boost your mood, reduce your stress, and improve
your sleep, which by default ALL benefit your beautiful skin.
Also remember, you are what you eat. Try to incorporate more fruits and veggies in your daily diet, and watch how your skin responds.
So just a few
easy tips to take care of the skin you’re in: Breathe, meditate, get plenty of those
Zzzz’s, eat clean, exercise regularly, drink lots of H2O and moisturize,
moisturize, moisturize!
Get your glow on
and feel good about the skin you’re in!
