What is the true definition of Fashion? By true definition, Fashion is a popular trend,
especially in styles of dress. Ask the runway in New York and it is all about
Designers presenting their “Fashion” if you will, some well-known-some new
trying to make it into the industry, to get discovered, to get their label in
the retail stores and of course ultimately to sell their line.
Fashion is also defined as “a way of doing things.” The runway is simply a guideline, so take it
and “run-a-way” with it! For example, see this pic here from the Wall Street

They presented their fall Alta Moda collection on the rocky and
beautiful island of Capri, Italy. You
heard me, in Italy! Why??? Because they can!! And because they are Domenico
Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, and Italy is their home, their heritage and truly
what inspires them, which is true to form at this event. STOP The Press, as this was an invitation
only event, NO paparazzi were on the guest list. And it was a full 3 day
weekend filled with Dom Perignon Champagne, 18-carat-gold sandals, hand-painted
dresses and even an Opera performance.
When you are a designer in the Fashion World, especially
ones as huge as Dolce & Gabbana, you have to think outside of the box, you
have to think broad and bold, and that is exactly what they did here.
